Leave the headlights on in this car? They’ll shut off when you turn the ignition off. If the car continues to sit with the parking lights on it’ll turn those off after a few hours, too. A little feature I never would have expected in a car that goes for under $14k. Don’t expect the battery to last very long though, I had to swap out mine at 12,000.

Ihave an 07 Accent Ma I Love that secret weapon intakefrom Weapon R. It really gets the power out.
I hear the next gen 2011 Accent sedan will look like a Baby Sonata, and the veloster concept will be the Hatch for 2012.
It Will have 1.6 GDI 145 HP and 45 MPG standard. A Turbo and a Hybrid as well.
And much more, including leather.

Mine didn’t have iridium plugs. It had copper NGKs.

I guess you didn’t realize the engine doesn’t need a tune up for 100k miles. They have the good iridium spark plugs that last a long time.

Have you been in one? They are larger than the previous model … still a bit narrow, but very tall and wonderful to get in and out of. I’m 6′ and have plenty of head and leg room. Although, if you have to haul people in the back seat, that’s when it does get small.

I’ve got 58,000 on mine now and, except for failure of the brake light switch at the brake pedal (replace free under warranty in about 20 minutes) this car has and is still performing flawlessly. Still on the original brakes even. Nothing but oil changes, a K&N air filter, fresh plugs, and a trans flush at 30,000.

I too have just turned 18k with my SE and agree with you on the three qualms.
I went with the Automatic with over drive.
It handles great but the 16 inch factory rims are expensive( $200+ each); avoid pot holes, the rims bend easy…

ummmmmm… wtf? I own this car and it is only just barely cool enough as it is, but I think THE AUTO CHANNEL just gayed the hell out of it to the point that I’d like to puke.

I had to rent a car. I selected a clean, fine running car. That is what I got. This Hyundai Accent. I couldn’t ask for much more, although the car was very tight. The cotton seats got very hot in the summer sun. It shaked a couple times, and was seldomly bumpy, but I have to say, it’s a clean, good gas saving car, and I spent about $10.00 at the pump, and it filled me up for 1/4 of a full tank. This car isn’t too bad. It’s suitable.

Just rolled 18,000 on my ’07 Accent SE. Everything about the car is more than acceptable except three minor qualms. 1. The materials used on the door panels scratch and mar very easily as if it’s a material pulled straight from a 30 year old GM product. 2. The rear wiper lacks an intermittent setting. 3. The HVAC fan is extremely loud. Otherwise, it’s a great car for the money and performs very well.

I’ve got Hyundai Accent Active 1.4 MPi 16 Valve (100HP). It is a good car, ideal for families with two or three children. But this car has moderate aerodynamic noise and if you have mainstream winter pneumatics, its very loud. So, all time I turn up volume on radio to 10/25.
BTW: My next car will be probably from Hyundai too.
