Someone Keyed “FAG” on My Car Door

A Vlog about my experience of someone keying the word “FAG” on my car door in quiet residential area of Indio, California (near Palm Springs). I filed a police report, and we may end up reporting it as a hate crime (as it is such). I am making a music video to my latest song “Turn”, and this is going to be one of the centerpieces of the video. Video: Sean Chapin

    @krypekeeper, I consider comments such as “well, in their defense you do look liek a f–” to be inappropriate and unnecessary, not to mention a bit childish and incendiary, and therefore I delete these comments out of respect for others who read them.     Bad luck with that, If anyone did that to my Ferrari I will be entitled to do it to their car and see if they say yes to that, otherwise I will key their face and that idiot will be known for the rest of their lives as ‘Keyedface’. I had my bike keyed on the fuel tank in the university car park once and the identity of the delinquent was never found.

    My car is now actually fixed but one day, when you are big and old enough to drive some low life cunt – like yourself – will probably key it, unless you drive a worthless heap of shit, which is likely.

    I feel sorry for you, but more for the person who actually vandalized your car. It must be hard to live a life filled with prejudices towards things that person in question obviously is not able to understand. Sadly, this is typical from people like that. It is a way for them to express their lack of comprehension in order to make sense of their prejudices.

    man good for you for filing police report! same thing happened to my dads car at work and the security camera found who did it and they got a 1,000 dollar fine and also had to pay to get it fixed! hope you get yours solved!

    Someone keyed fag into my drivers side door but it’s a hate crime because it’s happened to me twice on two different cars of mine. I swear people have no respect

    @deutschland08fn, I have a Human Rights Campaign sticker on my car, and I understand that the people in the area recognize this sticker as LGBT, so I believe that this may have been the trigger for this crime.

    I hope that your car has been fixed! I have a question though: Do you know many people in that area of California? Because I don’t see how it’s possible for someone to have written that as a hate crime when you’re on vacation. Either way this is an unacceptable and prejudice act and I wish you the best.

    @YoungKtown, I am gay, though I would think that this would affect everyone fairly strongly regardless. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if the video continues to spread well past the 5,000 plus views over the years, but that said, if 5 people have watched it and thought about what happened to me and my car as a result of homophobic hatred, then this video was well worth my effort.

    1st off….are you actually gay? if you are i can see why maybe it would affect you more.

    2nd, even though you make this video, it really wont affect alot of people…most people will be like “owell that sucks…” and then go on with there day and most likely not think twice about it. i get where your coming from and all..but im just saying i dont think a video on youtube will do alotta good to people out there. just my opinion.

    @YoungKtown, I think it’s important for everyone to see the actions of prejudice and hatred as they directly impact us, for I believe these visuals help illustrate their ensuing repugnance and higlight the importance of treating each other with dignity and respect regardless of our differences.

    My 93 Del Sol Si was scratched too so I can relate to the pain. It is fortunate the scratcher was never found. Had I found the scratcher, I’d of taken his/her knee cap out. It is finacially costly when it comes to body work(s).
